What is NUCARS?

an acronym for «Northwood University Computerized Automotive Retail Simulation»

NUCARS is an acronym for «Northwood University Computerized Automotive Retail Simulation». It is an English language management training game that puts the automotive students as close to reality as possible in an academic environment. The simulation challenges teams of students to cope with real life challenges in the operation of an automotive dealership.

The teams are a mix of students from seven colleges and universities with automotive dealership management programs in their curriculums. Students work with team-mates as opposed to individually, reflecting today`s pervasive management philosophy. Team members come from a multitude of cultural and language backgrounds requiring a higher level of understanding and cooperation to accomplish goals, which further prepares these future managers to think in truly international terms and for work in our global marketplace.

Beside the simulation, the week will include several relevant excursions.

In 2018 in Aarhus, the students will for instance visit Bilinfo, CARS, The Old Town, City Hall and more. At the end of the week, we will choose a winning team and find an outstanding student who will receive the Toine Bloem-Award, named after one of the founders of NUCARS.
